Janelle Krause is an artist and educator living in Upstate, NY. Growing up in Iowa, Krause attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA, for her BFA in Painting. There, she also earned her teaching license and a minor in Art History. Krause then attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, where she earned her MFA in Two Dimensional Studies. In recent years, Krause was a recipient of an Individual Artist’s Grant, a pair of New York State’s Decentralization Grants, and was a founder and President of the Glove City Arts Alliance. Krause is a practicing artist whose current body of work consists of pop-surreal paintings of a variety of subject matter. She feels that remaining a practicing artist makes her a better teacher at Gloversville High School, where she teaches drawing & painting, graphic design, and digital photography.
