Remembering

Joann Samrov

We are devastated to learn of the loss of our friend and supporter, Joann Samrov. Joann and her husband, Richard, were recently named Board Members Emeritus by The Glove Board of Directors. The Samrovs are largely responsible for The Glove Theatre being around today. The husband and wife team acted as Executive Director, Bookkeeper, and Secretary throughout some of the most tumultuous years of The Glove's modern history. Joann's beaming smile, quick wit, and incredible, encyclopœdic knowledge of the history of The Glove Theatre and Gloversville were both impressive and entertaining. She was a fan of the arts, and supported many events at The Glove Theatre. Over the last year, Joann worked closely with her husband, Richard, Alex Miller, and the Glove Theatre Volunteers of whom she was so fond to re-curate and revive The Glove Theatre Museum. We will miss Joann's presence, but her spirit will be felt every day within the walls of The Glove Theatre and The Glove Theatre Museum.

The following arrangements have been made for Joann Samrov’s services:

A public viewing will be held Thursday, March 21st from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, located at 51 Fremont Street in Gloversville, New York 12078.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 10:00am at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home; interment to immediately follow at the Ferndale Cemetery, located at 545 Perry Street in Johnstown, New York.
